Book Review! The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis is a genius. Forever a sheer genius.

If you haven’t had the chance to delve into this classic, do so! I love this book- and always seem to need a dictionary next to me (or the Merriam-Webster APP on my IPhone usually suffices) when I read this.

Uncle Screwtape (a senior tempter/demon from Hades and a servant of ‘Our Father Below’) writes letters to his nephew, Wormwood. Wormwood is an amateur and novice demon, hoping to gain experience in the ranks of securing the fate of as many humans in Hades as possible. Currently, the man he’s ‘working on’ has became a Christian- and the story begins there.

Often we see the perspective of Good…and in turn we are trying to fight evil. But what better to fight evil than TO KNOW HOW evil works…and when one figures this out- oh the possibilities!

I love this book! It allows you to “see” the spiritual world around us physical beings- and my, what a busy world it is.

Fall in love with this classic! And soon you’ll agree that C.S. Lewis is probably the most crafty mind that ever lived!

P.S. : Get the annotated edition from your library if you can~
