A moment in DC …

White Coat Ceremony weekend…thanking God for a major milestone, awesome family, and a fun relaxing weekend that went by wayyyy too fast.

Starting Saturday morning with plenty of coffee and Rangoli Indian food:

And continuing through the afternoon with Chopathi’s Masala tea and samosa at Dulles Mall.

And then on the way to Union station: catching a glimpse of our country’s finest:

Washington Monument
And The White House.

The Capitol

Lincoln Memorial

Ending with a lady blowing a shofar outside her window.

”Twas a blessed weekend indeed!

Back to school. Back to boards. Back to one last final academic push till the real break- July 12: after boards.

98 days …

Till Boards Part 1.

Starting off my 5:45am with LEA flashcards.

And this:

Because big studying requires even bigger bagel sandwiches.

Today marks 100 days till APMLE Part 1

Got this email after my 4:45am marathon study session that started today:

Well, the good news is, I already bought the cards.

100 days doesn’t seem like much when you’re studying for an exam.

Check out my new study spread:

Yup. Good ‘ole turn a wooden chair that might make you have see a chiropractor into a desk thing.

And if you’ll cleverly notice the yummy chocolate chip muffin sitting at the top of the study space- courtesy of my fabulous roommate.

100 days! 100 days till the test.

100 days till the test is over.

So….100 days till FREEDOM.

Springing forward, Spring Cleaning, and Springing into Action

That’s alot of Spring.

A couple notes, as you can see. We, here at Cowgirl Chris have changed the theme up a bit to something a bit more STUDIOUS?! … the theme looks to be quite studious as we are busily prepping for APMLE STEP 1 (Boards Part 1). So changing the theme (we thought) would serve as a great way to spring into studying.

This morning I wasn’t studying for boards, because of an OR Protocol Midterm. So I did you my usual pre-exam ritual and grabbed a bagel and coffee from ‘the cart’ outside. And brought it back to the library and licked all the heart-blocking, atherosclerosis-inducing cream cheese right off. Notice how ‘the cart’ bagels are nicely pre-wrapped with glorious generic plastic wrap. The flavor of Philadelphia cream cheese (philadelphia chromosome 9;22 –> this is a Boards Questions!!) that the cart serves us is..Plain, Plain, and the last flavor…Plain.

And you can see in the tainted picture the coffee in the back – cream, no sugar, please! A healthy, satisfying, quick, yummy routine to eat your way to a 92% on the exam. All for $2.50. Hard to beat ‘the cart’ guy in any Philly town.

Test question: Identify the ‘type’ of surgical instrument seen on the laptop screen? … Answer: Allis Grasping Forceps

Now that the exam is over, how can you burn off the carbohydrates and fatty streaks in your arteries induced by ‘the cart’ cinnamon bagel and cream cheese? Gym? ..nah!!!

Try the Nike Training Club app!! It’s fabulous! And it burns…so much i needed to borrow my roommate’s Biofreeze to un-kink my neck.  Oops!

Will be posting on my Boards Studying progress: July 11, 2017 is the big day!

In the mean time…it’s time for my workout!!

A night at the airport…

All-nighters spent studying are… worthwhile.

All-nighters spent studying with Chick-fil-A are…delicious.

But!…All-nighters spent studying at the airport with Chick-fil-A on the way Home-Sweet-Home for a relaxing and studious break….Priceless!

Goodness do I love me some Chick-fil-A.

And goodness I do love going HOME.

Happy Happy Spring Break Y’all! May your Spring Break be as mint fresh as a pair of closet-fresh sweet Coach kicks!

The BEST Food … Is when you’re MOST Hungry

Pathology exam was at 8am.

I studied till 1am, and woke up at 5am. To studyyy again.

That means that if I calculate my REM sleep cycles correctly, I got precisely 3.5 hours solid sleep.

And now it’s lunch time.

Before finishing off the rest of my 4.5 hour sleep deficit- it is highly necessary to stuff my stomach with ample nutrition- in other words- ultimate hibernation mode.

So my roommate and I decided to visit good ol’ Reading Terminal Market (just adjacent to Chinatown, Philadelphia)

‘Hunger Burger’ was calling my name. And the lady asked me if I wanted sweet potato fries with my double special 100% all natural juicy beefy Hunger Burger. At first I said ‘no fries’….

Then I came back to my senses.

I yelled “YES!!! I will have sweet potato fries”

Most people take pictures of burgers before taking two delicious mouth watering bites out of them. Most people. Good thing I’m not ‘most people’. Ha!

Most importantly, here are the sweet potato fries I yelled for: a close up to savor…

Double Hunger Burger: $8.00

Sweet Potato Fries: $3.50

The feeling of complete peace after God helps you ace the exam and provides a delicious cow-sized juicy burger (and fries…sweet): $$$priceless
